Back Again From Sudan
April 4, 2005

Taylor arrived back safely from his second trip to Sudan. He joined with Sam Childers in rescuing twenty-three children from the most dangerous region in south Sudan, a region bombarded weekly with genocide and starvation. With God’s protection in the form of the unseen, eight soldiers, two trucks, and artillery in case of attack, the small team went forward in Jesus’ name. Lack of space and funding forced them to leave behind over 700 orphans desperate for relief. Additionally, they readied the compound for Dateline NBC to come in and break open the story of severe oppression in northern Uganda and south Sudan. We will let you know when the story will air.

On this trip Taylor also lead interviews of orphans traumatized by war. This was in preparation for counseling as well as for formal documentation of the injustice committed by the LRA.

This trip was different for Taylor. He wrestled with thoughts of comfort and doubt at varying times, realizing that he could honestly die.

Now the task before us is great. We are sending Taylor back to Sudan for three months to work counseling children terrorized by war in Sudan. "The Lord also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. He does not forget the cry of the afflicted. For the needy will not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the afflicted perish forever" -Psalm 9, our God.
