Sudan and
Persecuted Church Update Just over two weeks ago the Children’s Village where Taylor worked for the majority of his 2 trips to Sudan was attacked by rebel militia—several people were said to have been killed. Oppression and genocide intensify daily in many parts of the world. This seemed surreal for Taylor, the idea of ones you have laughed with and cried over murdered in cold blood. Yes, our family in Christ is met with death, while life-long believers and church-goers here in America excuse themselves from sharing Christ in their workplace for fear of being sued. Jesus said following Him isn’t cheap, it’s expensive. Read the Gospel of Luke, chapter fourteen, in which Jesus clarifies that we are to count the cost of following Him. “…None of you can be My disciple who does not give up all his own possessions.” With each day He asks, “Do you honestly believe that I am worth it?” Is He? Recent governmental restrictions in south Sudan have postponed Taylor’s scheduled work for July. Out team is praying about serving with additional persecuted countries. We are thankful for the joy and fruit of sharing in the gospel amidst the Sudanese, and are equally saddened by the loss of friends and adjoining kingdom work for Christ there.
Wherever Narrow Road is placed, we
know God’s placement means counting costs—physical death,
relinquishing wealth’s fading security—yet only in exchange for the
promise of Christ’s unfading crown of glory! Even so, let us advance.
