"AMPED" 2005
June 2, 2005

9am it began, students assembled, the trucks started rolling.  For the next 6 hours students, volunteers, and leaders blocked off the street, rolled in a 20 ton flatbed trailer for a stage, trucked in a full skate park, and set up sound for several bands.  And then Amped 2005 began. Throughout the rest of the day there was a professional skateboarding demonstration by Freedom Skateboards, two bands PURE and Ember rocked the street, live broadcast and interviews by RevFM Christian Radio, and the Gospel was preached to the crowds.  After months of prayer, this one-day “mini Creation”, as one student put it, went off with out a hitch.  In fact, as it hailed and rained to the point of flooding within blocks of the event that day, our 2 blocks only saw and heard the weather from a short distance.  As rain would have been the one thing to shut us down, God was so good to keep our area dry!
