The Narrow Road Rules 2004
June 29, 2004

With a team of ten students and six leaders, Narrow Road Rules began, with a journey, an adventure, which has yet to be concluded. At five A.M. on Tuesday morning we met together for briefing and departure. But the trip had already begun weeks in advance.  Each of the students were required to meet together for certain training sessions—heart, hands, head, and feet—sessions in which they learned by way of experience; the experience of serving and being shepherded culminating in a night of intimacy as leaders washed feet, students joined in communion, and each heart embraced Christ.  The students knew that something greater had begun as their hearts witnessed: ‘God is altogether holy.’ The team served throughout four states ending in Manhattan, New York City.

We arrived back at our starting point in Houtzdale at six P.M. on Sunday evening. These students, from towns of 400 to 2500 people, ventured into New York City, shared their faith with complete strangers, led people to Christ, conquered personal fears and poured themselves out for the glory and renown of the Lord Jesus Christ. Stretched outside their comfort zones, each student brings back countless stories of faith and adventure.  Relationships were reconciled, complacencies were stripped, hearts were spoken to, and eternities were altered all through the lives of these students.

God is calling a generation to stand up and live whole-heartedly for Jesus Christ!  It is with much thanks to so many for their time, meal preparation, hospitality, financial support and prayer for making this trip a reality.
