New Houtzdale Youth Center
September 2, 2005

When we last wrote to you, we were in the process of taking steps towards purchasing an available building for a new youth center in Houtzdale, PA.  As we approached the closing date, we trusted that God would provide the funds necessary to pay the down payment and closing fees.  Our initial need was $18,000, which quickly rose to over $20,000 as various appraisal, lender, and accountant fees added up.  As the numbers grew, we knew all the more just how much we were relying completely on God to make it happen.

No more than 2 weeks before our closing date, a member of Narrow Road went to speak at a church.  After the church service that Sunday morning, he received an envelope with a check from a couple who were moved to tears as they prayed to God for His guidance in whether or not to support this ministry’s work.  As these faithful servants of Christ listened to the Holy Spirit’s call to sacrifice, they proceeded to write a check for $20,000 to ensure our down payment of the new youth facility!

Words cannot describe the joy as we saw God provide for something so many have been praying about for so long.  Since securing the building, we now are looking forward to God’s continued provision to payoff the remaining principle of $37,000, and bring willing hands and feet and materials for the building renovations.

As we start the renovation process, the facility will be designed to include counseling offices, a Christian resource library, open recreation area, high-speed internet stations, bathrooms with showers for short-term missionary housing, and classroom areas for Bible schooling.  Narrow Road is currently talking with Central Christian University about using this facility for seminars to earn credit towards receiving ministry accredited Bible degrees.
