Tanzania Mission Trip
September 14, 2006

“And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing there, urging him and saying, ‘Come over to Macedonia and help us’” (Acts 16:9). God dropped absolute strangers in Paul’s lap—foreigners who were in desperate need of the gospel.

Similarly, God has dropped a native Tanzanian right before Team Narrow Road through the leading of the Holy Spirit.  Twelve months ago, Brighton, a native pastor in Tanzania, Africa, and church planter in the Congo region, reached out to us through our web site, and invited us to “Come over and preach and teach the word of God!”   At that point, our team started praying and fasting over this invitation, and over the past 12 months we have received numerous confirmations from Jesus to indeed go to Tanzania.

Not knowing all that waits for us, we are confident in God’s purposes, and trust He has already laid the road before us.  We have made several other contacts over the past weeks, and know that we will be teaching local pastors basic biblical training, delivering clothes to the poor, loving the destitute, reaching poor Muslim youth, and visiting and encouraging indigenous churches in the Congo.

When God says “Go” we know that it can many times mean to start the process of going.  In this case, we needed to raise the money for the trip, and start the work of information gathering about the local region and the spiritual climate.  For the past several months, several families and couples have sacrificed financially to support this trip, making the funds possible to send Taylor Thomas and Kevin Howard to proclaim Jesus Christ in a country of 50% Muslims.  Our hope and confidence is that the Father will use us as he continues to write the story of Christ’s church.

Taylor and Kevin will be leaving on September 18th, and be returning at different times several weeks later.  Please pray for their journey to serve and minister the word of God.
