Summer Camp 2007
September, 2007

Camp this year was quite a bit different from camp last year, not in terms of schedule or numbers, but in terms of warfare. The enemy did not want a successful camp at all, and he attacked wherever he could. Thanks be to God that none of the enemies schemes succeeded! Indeed, what he had meant for evil, God worked out for good and used everything to bring him more glory and open up the closed hearts of some students. One story that came out of camp this summer is of a boy who is now a junior in high school. During the week of camp we had one night where several students were praying and asking God to reveal to them what was coming up in their lives. This boy believes that he heard God’s voice and that he is supposed to go into foreign missions! He came to one of the leaders to tell them what he heard, and in that moment God gave some very specific instructions for him. He told him that he needed to go back home and get a job as soon as he could. Once he got a job, he needed to save half of his weekly pay and put it toward future missions trips so that when opportunities come up for him to go somewhere, he will already have the support he needs. He also heard that for the rest of the time that he’s in high school, he needs to do his very best in school and so honor God. Upon returning home, this young man got a job right away and has been treating the halls of his school as his mission field.
